1.

Will my insurance cover my physical therapy visits?

Most major insurances will cover PT services. Deductible and co-pay amounts vary per insurance provider and will be determined prior to your first visit.
Do I need an MD referral?

2.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Only for Medicare patients. In RI we have “Direct Access” for physical therapy services where anyone can see a PT directly without a physician referral. If PT is necessary after a 3 month period of treatment, your PT is required to have you see your physician for a prescription for further PT treatment.

3.

Will insurance pay for Pilates or sports conditioning?

No your insurance will not pay for Pilates or sports conditioning. If you are under the care of a PT, and Pilates or sports conditioning would benefit you as part of your rehabilitation, the PT will direct your Pilates exercise or sports conditioning exercise as part of your visit.

4.

What should I wear for my physical therapy appointment?

Please wear loose-fitting or workout wear. Shorts, tank tops, sweats or yoga/fitness clothing are all appropriate. Please bring or wear sneakers.

5.

How long will I be at my physical therapy visit?

Anywhere from 45-90 minutes depending on your injury.

6.

Will physical therapy be painful?

Although rehabilitation from injury is never easy, at Contrology we make every effort to make you comfortable during your treatment.
